A LAND OF PLENTY
by Kevin

God has blessed us with a land of
plenty. America
is a land much wealthier than most.
Having lived in, and traveled to third world countries I am able to
clearly see how much wealthier this country is as whole. Granted, the poor are among us, but overall
we fare much better than most. Are you
thankful to live in this land of plenty?
America
has been bountifully blessed for many years.
In 1776, during the Revolutionary War, the British Troops made a marine
landing near New York in
preparation for an attack against George Washington’s patriot forces. When these soldiers saw how fruitful the land
was, and how nice the houses were, they were amazed. Even back when we were just 13 colonies our
prosperity was notable. Granted, the
Great Depression brought years of poverty to many, but generally speaking we
have fared better than most. Are you
thankful to live in this land of plenty?
The Psalmist wrote, “I will praise the name of God with a song, and
will magnify him with thanksgiving (Psalm
69:30).” The apostle Paul said, “Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with
thanksgiving (Colossian 4:2).” When you go to God in prayer, thank Him for
the blessings of this land, and never ever
take them for granted.
