HOW DO YOU PREPARE?

by Kevin Rutherford

When God told Jacob to go to Bethel and worship Him, Jacob prepared by removing sin, cleaning up, and changing clothes (Genesis 35:1-3).  How do you prepare for worship?

The priests were to wash themselves and to put on appropriate clothing before worshipping God (Exodus 30:17-21; 39:22-31). How do you prepare for worship?

While traveling Paul made plans to assemble with the saints (Acts 20:2-7).  For the act of giving, purposing in the heart is required (2 Corinthians 9:7). Early Christians clearly planned ahead for worship. Do you?

What we do through the week, and in particular what we do Saturday night and Sunday morning before coming to worship will affect our worship.  Plan accordingly.

What we do in worship will affect how we please God.  Worship appropriately (John 4:24; 1 Corinthians 14:40).  Worship has never been something to be taken lightly (Leviticus 10:1-3).
