MAKE IT YOUR AIM

The body in which we now live is like a tent.  A tent is a temporary dwelling place.  This tent in which we live is not made to last - Someday it will wear out completely and we will leave it behind.  The good news is that beyond death we shall receive a permanent structure in which to live.  We shall go from a tent to a building.  We shall one day receive a body that will not be subject to decay (1 Corinthians 5:1-5).

Meanwhile we must continue to faithfully serve the Lord in this temporary body.  In fact, we should be like Paul and make it our aim to be well pleasing to God while enclosed within this tent.  Our time in this temporary dwelling place must be spent in service to God because the Lord shall judge us all someday. Knowing the judgment is coming we ought to teach others so that they too may be prepared for that time when this body is no longer used and we stand before the judgment seat of Christ (1 Corinthians 5:8-11).

Is it your aim to be well pleasing to God?  It ought to be.  We will take nothing with us beyond this life, other than the service that we have rendered to God.  You are only here for a little while.  Someday you will leave your body in the grave.  Someday you will face the Lord in judgment.  Make it your aim to please God.
