That our religious world of today is chock full of erroneous teaching about God—the Bible— salvation—and many other things, is quite evident.  No wonder we have so much division in the contemporary religious scene.  I wonder—WHY? Why do people think what they think and say what they say?  For instance:

• Someone says, “We are saved by faith only”—when James said, “Man is justified by works and NOT BY FAITH ONLY.“ (James 2:24)

• Someone says, “Baptism is not essential”—when Peter said, “Baptism now SAVES YOU,,.” (I Peter 3:21)

• Someone says, “Sprinkling is baptism” –when Paul said, “BURIED with Him in baptism in which you also were RAISED with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.” (Colossians 2:12)

• Someone says, “You cannot fall from grace”— when Paul said, “You have FALLEN FROM GRACE” (Galatians 5:4)

• Someone says, “Just be sincere and God will save you, no matter what you believe or do”— when Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER IN HEAVEN“ (Matthew 7:21)

• Someone says, “You are saved by grace, so obedience is not necessary” -- when the Hebrew writer said, “And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who OBEY HIM.” “(Hebrews 5:9)

WHY?  Maybe because of opinion...or being misled...or traditional teaching...or just plain disregard of what the scriptures teach.  Whatever the reason, our faith must be based upon the Word of God, not on what “someone says.”

Now, how about YOU?  Will you follow what someone said—or what the New Testament teaches?  It does make a difference.
